Due to our recent road trip to Caleruega in Nasugbu Batangas, I was inspired to make it a regular weekend hobby. 3 Day weekends cost more and involves planning, flight bookings and hotel bookings, so it is not an option for me right now. Road trips would certainly help me appreciate the beauty of paradise philippines at an affordable cost (usually gasoline and food).
Here are top five destinations for a weekend road trip, if you are living in Metro Manila, paradise Philippines.
- Tagaytay – The top choice among Manila folks for a weekend getaway road trip due to its proximity to Manila/Makati business areas (1 hour, traffic-free drive). There are so many wonderful places to visit in Tagaytay which are usually free and does not cost a dime (except food),
- Subic, Zambales – Second to Tagaytay, Subic is the nearest place to Manila/Makati area. Places to visit are Ocean Adventure, Zoobic, Jungle Adveture Forest or simply unwind at the numerous beaches in Subic town proper,
- Los Banos, Laguna – preferably in the UP Campus area where greenery is luscious and very abundant. You can even trekk to the famous Mount Makiling,
- Cavinti Laguna – Visit the Lakes and waterfalls, buy antique goods, and enjoy the laid back athmosphere in Cavinti, Laguna, paradise Philippines,
- Pampanga Area – visit the Spanish inspired churches of San Fernando and Betis, enjoy the leisure athmosphere at Fontana, trek to Mt. Pinatubo or simply eat your heart out at Razons.
These are just the top five road trip destinations that Manila can opt to do on a weekend. Should you choose any of the five destinations in paradise Philippines, make sure to leave early (preferably on a Sunday) to beat the traffic rush. It saves you time and gasoline expenses that way.
