Paradise Philippines City Spotlight, Antipolo the Pilgrimage Capital
The first thing that came into my mind while thinking of writing a post about Antipolo was the song that goes “Tayo na sa Antipolo, at doon ay maligo tayo, sa batis na kung tawagin ay hi, hi, hinulugang taktak” (Let’s go to Antipolo, where we can take a dip into the waterfalls called Hinulugang Taktak). Those were the lines of a familiar song decades ago. Living in Quezon City back then would take a lot to go to Antipolo. So, I just contend myself with humming the song in my mind and imagine what it feels like to be in Antipolo, a rural city in paradise philippines.
Fast forward today, I’m currently residing in none other than Antipolo and it is but fitting that I pay tribute to this quiet city which has remained its rural-feel despite urbanization and development through the years.
