Sabangan Beach Resort is one of the several resorts lining up the Laiya coastline. It’s situated right after Blue Coral Beach Resort and before the famous Acuatico. Unlike Blue Coral, Sabangan has few cottages/lofts available for rent, which means that the place don’t get too crowded especially during peak seasons. Compared with Acuatico, Sabangan is a bit on the older side. There’s a homey-kind-of-feel into the cottages and lofts of Sabangan.

To celebrate my son’s 3rd year birthday, we booked a two-bedroom bungalow in Sabangan. This accomodation consists of one master bedroom with two twin-size beds and another room with a queen size bed. There’s a common comfort room between these two rooms and infront is a mini-terrace. The bungalow is made mostly of wood so it doesn’t get too hot even at night. Just the same, both rooms are equipped with air-conditioning unit. On the terrace, there’s also an “old/aging” refrigerator which takes forever to warm up or should I say cool down?

The accomodations cost us Php 15,000 for an overnight stay. That includes two full meals (dinner and breakfast) and two snacks. All food are “lutong bahay” so don’t expect to be served with fancy fares. Overall the food was ok. Not too fancy and yet not too boring. Pinoy food lovers will surely appreciate the food choices served in Sabangan.

Sabangan Beach Resort also has a kiddie pool and a regular sized pool for adults (4 feet). It’s clean and cozy although, the infinity pool of Acuatico is way better. If you don’t feel like dipping into the pool, you can always swim on the crystal clear waters of the Laiya beach.

Overall, our stay in Sabangan was good. Not that great but good enough for a quick weekend getaway. My only gripe is that although the full meals included in the package is good for six persons, the management of the beach resort might want to consider adding more “fish” variety into the meals served especially during dinner. The owner of the beach resort might also consider improving the room conditions of their cottages. While the comfort rooms/bath rooms are well kept and clean, the water supply is kind of low. By the way kudos to the staff and crew of the beach resort. They were all pleasant, accomodating and easy to deal with.

Last weekend, we went to Canyon Cove in Nasugbu, Batangas for an overnight stay. We booked our accomodations via a discounted offer from Ensogo Philippines. In case, you’re not aware Ensogo is one of the major deal sites in the Philippines offering one of the best deals in almost everything. From dining, travel packages, and services. Name it, and more often than not, Ensogo has the best deals for you. (Note: I’m not paid to promote Ensogo. I was just pleased with this transaction and the fact that I paid only half the price of the regular rates in Canyon Cove, convinced me, that Ensogo is the real deal.)

We booked Deluxe Rooms in Canyon Cove. For the several times that we’ve spent the night here, it was the first time that we were assigned to the east wing of the resort. I think the rooms here are quite new. In fact, there are still workers lurking around the vicinity. But that was not a problem to us. The room was spacious enough and has a huge King size bed plus a day bed besides the windows. The other rooms we got has two double size beds and one day bed. For the two rooms, I paid only Php 5,000. On regular rates it would probably cost me around 10K plus. So, it was a great deal indeed.

Incidentally, the package didn’t come with a buffet breakfast. Canyon Cove charges Php 300 per person for their breakfast buffet. The food was nothing extra-ordinary. You get a couple of breakfast viand, garlic rice and bread, fruits and desert for puddings, plus of course – bottomless coffee.

Overall, it was a good stay. Kudos to Canyon Cove management for still maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of their resort. The beach was still very nice and the pools remain o be one of its main attractions.

Again, thanks to Ensogo for the very nice deal!

I just got an email from Acuatico Beach Resort containing a flyer promoting their discounted offerings for returning guests to the resort. If you have check-in to Acuatico Beach Resort, which happens to be one of the best places in Laiya, Batangas, you can avail of this promo rate. They are slashing as much as 15% on accomodations for as long as you are booking between September 1 to October 31. It’s a good deal considering that Acuatico’s rates are relatively pricey as compared to other resorts in Laiya Batangas.

If you haven’t been to Acuatico Beach Resort in Laiya, Batangas, check out photos of our recent stay in Acuatico Beach Resort.

To avail of the promo, simply call their Reservations Office (8927577 to 79).

It was our last trip for summer 2011 and where could it possibly happen? Of course in our place in Batangas – Laiya, San Juan Batangas. It was our first time to book a cottage in La Luz Beach Resort which lies at the farthest point of the coast of Laiya. Going there, you’ll pass by Acuatico, Balay Laiya, Blue Coral and all the other resorts in Laiya. The road to La Luz is kind of rough since they are currently improving the roads.

La Luz Beach Resort is not really a new resort. In fact, it could probably be among the first resorts in Laiya. You can easily notice this since the cottages are already showing signs of age. But don’t get me wrong, the cottages are still livable and looks pretty decent. Props to the owner for maintaining the cleanliness of La Luz’ accomodations.

Food offerings of La Luz Beach Resort are not that great in terms of quality but in terms of quantity, you will definitely appreciate it. What’s good about this resort is the fact that its staff and crew are very accomodating and helpful. Again, congrats to the owners for employing such nice personnel.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at La Luz Beach Resort. The rate is affordable and you’ll get a nice access to the Laiya beach. For more information, visit the La Luz Beach Resort Official Site.

Located in my favorite place in Batangas – Laiya, San Juan, Acuatico Beach Resort is the best beach resort I’ve visited in Laiya so far, and the most expensive as wel. The facilities are very clean and well-maintained, staff are very accomodating and friendly, the amenities are top of the class, and of course the beach water as clear as the sky on a hot summer day.

Acuatico Beach Resort’s best feature has got to be accomodation. Each of the rooms are well planned and built strategically to take full advantage of the beach as well as the infinity pool. We stayed in one of the family suites and from outside the cavana you could catch a glimpse of both the pool and the beach front.

Speaking of swimming pools, Acuatico’s infinity pool is the main attraction of the resort. This infinity pool has been featured in various tv commercials but seeing it in real is a different feeling altogether just by seeing it on brochures, newspaper and tv ads. You got to see it to really appreciate the beauty of this infinity pool.

Another attraction of Acuatico Beach Resort is of course the beach in all its pristine, clear blue waters.

Spent last weekend at the Beach Club of Peninsula De Punta Fuego located in Nasugbu, Batangas. This is around 10 kms away from Canyon Cove. Peninsula De Punta Fuego is an exclusive 88-hectare flame-shaped peninsula which according to their site is envisioned to be a world-class residential beach resort.

The place is huge, beautifully designed and you would feel like you’re in a different country while you are there. Anyway, we stayed at one of their Casitas which is on the seaside of the club. Just below us you can hear the raging sea waves. It feels great to be sleeping with only the sound of the sea waves putting you to sleep.

Peninsula De Punta Fuego has several swimming pools and beaches in different location inside the property. Butthe best spot is located in what they call as the long beach. Although not as good as the beach in Laiya, the good thing about this beach is that very few people go there to swim. So, you’d feel like you’re in your own beach resort. The main club’s swimming pool is also great since it’s an infinity pool overlooking the Hamilo Coastline.

Overall, it was quite a great vacation. Food was also great in the Peninsula De Funta Fuego’s beach club member’s lounge.

Recently had a chance to check-in at Blue Coral Beach Resort in Laiya, San Juan Batangas. It’s a very nice resort located just a few blocks away from Balay Laiya. Actually it’s the first resort in the row of beach resorts along the Laiya shoreline.

The resort is huge, clean and has friendly and accomodating staff. Of course since it is in Laiya, you’d definitely love the beach water and sand. But if you’re not a beach person, you can dip into the warm water of Blue Coral’s swimming pool which is situated in the center of the resort.

If you’re planning to go there, as much as possible book the deluxe rooms which are labeled poolside or beach front. The beach front room is of course the best but I think there are only two or three of them, so the poolside room would suffice.

If you’re tight on budget, you can settle for the dormitory type of room which is housed on the resorts main building.

The resort serves buffet meals which would set you back for around Php 900 for three full board meals. This is reasonable enough and the food selection is good although some of the dishes can be bland in taste.

Overall, Blue Coral Beach Resort in Laiya San Juan Batangas is an affordable and yet very nice place to stay if you want to spend a weekend in the sand and water of Laiya beach.

After a stressful two weeks, what a way to unwind, relax and spend sometime with the family but a quick trip to the beach. You don’t have to go Boracay to enjoy the sand, the cool waters, and even just the smell of sweet air. You can enjoy it just by driving around 3 hours from Manila heading towards the quiet town of San Juan in Batangas, where Balay Laiya is located. The first time we went here was January 2008. Less than a year had passed and Balay Laiya is still the quaint and serene beach resort that it is. The water is still clear and very few people still go there.

The sand although not as white as those in Boracay is still pristine.

My favorite spot in Laiya. Reminds me of that grotto in Boracay.

The bancas are still there.

Nothing beats the blue skies and the pristine white clouds. Makes you forget the stress of city life.
